Here are my weekly picks for the football weekend, and why. First I’m not big into following college football, but for sure UT will win because OU sucks! Being from Austin, I am compelled to say that, but in all reality, OU will probably win the game, but please make note that UT is the most kick ass school in the world! Hook Em!
Now for the professional picks. The Steelers are going to win tonight. I am a big fan of Tomlinson. He is a very solid coach with greatness in his future. He is after all quite young, so he has a lot of years in the NFL. And he has the balls to hire an offensive coordinator who is as good as he is. Unlike the culture of the Cowboys where we like to make sure that no one questions the great head coach’s silly calls. Haley is good for the Steelers. Further I LOVE Pittsburgh fans, though their yellow towels to the face during the superbowl a few years ago was a bit annoying. I love the way those fans with a Steelers tattoo will say, “It’s not a tattoo. It’s a birth mark.” I Love it! The Titans are going to be outmatched on this one.
Dallas is my team, and I love them so much. It is so hard for me to call the game. If they show up and actually play, they will win, but I am going to have to go against my heart on this one. Baltimore is going to take it. They are strong, though their QB Flacco has a bit of the Romo syndrome – he underperforms for his talent. Everyone up there really deserves a great team and a championship since they were deprived of it years ago by moving their franchise to Indianapolis. Further, they do have Oher who was the main character from Blind Side. What a great story! Well, the Cowboys need a new head coach, and until that happens, I expect we will end up 8-8 at best this year. Ravens are gonna kick our asses!
Cincinnati for sure will win. Cleveland has shown some heart, and Weedon is a warrior, even though he leads the league with nine interceptions! I would definitely pick Cleveland if Colt McCoy were playing. I love Colt! What a great name. What parent has a kid and says I’m gonna name this one Colt. Not me, but his coach dad must have had some insight. He’s a tough Colt! Andy Dalton is amazing, and he is a home town fav around here since he is a TCU alum.
Detroit vs Philly is a hard one. I think Lions will win, and Stafford is truly a home town hero here in Highland Park. He is an amazing athlete, tough and a leader. He has what it takes. But, while as a Cowboy fan, I’m supposed to be an Eagle hater…well I love Vick! I love to watch him play, but it has become more and more difficult to watch him get his ass kicked out there – over and over again. Still, I’m going with Detroit. They are playing in Philly, so beware Detroit fans! They did boo Santa off the field. I mean, who does that? Philly – that’s who!
I’m going with Indy over Jets, but that is a tough call I must admit. The Jets have sucked ass this year, but they have something to prove, and Indy may give them the opportunity to actually perform well, but still, I’m going with the Colts all the way. Andy Luck is a rockstar of a quarterback, and Sanchize is about the same as Romo. He should be a great quarterback, but he just isn’t. I do love me some Tebow though! I watch him religiously (pun intended). I do wonder if Indy second guesses their draft pick…RG3 is pretty amazing, and there may be something to that Heisman decision. I further wonder if they wish they had stuck with good old Payton…
I think that Kansas City vs Tampa Bay sounds really boring and like a good one to watch on the highlight reels later. I am going to the Buccs though. And I’m sorry to Kansas City because I like that place, but your team sucks!
St Louis is going to beat Miami. I’m sorry to all my buds in Miami, and I love them all! I love that city or should I say South Beach. But still every win for the Rams this season has been against a team who had won the week before. Miami defeated the Bengals last week at Cincinnati. Will the Rams be able to maintain this streak? I believe so. Though, I love that Miami picked up Tannehill. He is going to become a franchise favorite in his career in my opinion. And Reggie Bush for RB. That’s pretty strong. Still I’m going Rams on this one. I am a Sam Bradford fan, and he is just better than Tannehill at this moment in time.
Oakland is going to lose in Atlanta. Watch out for flying beer bottles if it doesn’t happen though. Way to go Atlanta to show so much class in your little baseball game the other night. I love Atlanta though. Shout out to my buds there in Atlanta. Fun town, but keep your people in check! I mean really !
Buffalo is going to beat Arizona. The Cards are a better team, but I’m still a believer in Fitzpatrick, though he has been quite a disappointment so far. Still go Bills. Anyone who calls their cheerleaders the Bill Jills gets my vote! Shout out to my pilot friends there in Buffalo. If it were not so cold, I might visit, but it ain’t gonna happen! The Cards are a favorite in the real pros picks though, and they are playing at home.
New England’s pretty boy QB Brady and his BFF Belichick will lose in Seattle. Seattle is amazing this year, and that stadium is so loud! I am taking Seattle all the way. I wonder if Brady’s pretty wife will start ranting at the elevator again. She said that she was just talking to her friends, but she is like 6’6. People can hear you up there lady. And further, people can see your big tall head over everybody else in the crowd! Be quiet if you don’t understand the game! (that may be a little jealousy talking on my part). I think that the coolest thing about Seattle is that they don’t have anyone who is a superstar on their team. Like who is their QB? Who cares right. They are a team who plays as a team, and they have homefield advantage, and their homefield advantage is real. Babye Belichick and Brady! (Russell Wilson is Seattle’s QB BTW, and he’s good).
The Skins are going to embarrass Minnesota. RG3 being Robert Griffin, III is so fun to watch! Even if they end up having to play the other RG3 (Rex Grossman, III), they are looking good. The real RG3 is supposed to start. I’m glad for my DC friends too. They deserve a winning team. They have to stand out in the damn cold and the elements there to watch their team lose year after year. Now, they can stand out in the cold and watch them win. And, damn the lines to get out of the parking lot there are really impressive! Takes a long long time. Minnesota needs to regroup.
Now, the NY Giants are my least favorite team just because they kick our asses over and over again. Eli is a great man and a great QB. Is he as good as his big bro? Who cares! He is a champion times 2. But, I am very happy to say that San Francisco is going to kick the ever loving shit out of the Giants, Cruz and all. And just for the record, Cruz is a Cowboy fan and wanted to play for the Cowboys. Let’s see Dez vs Cruz…. Cruz is a really great player and a good boy for his grandmother who raised him. I suppose he would not cut Belichick’s standards either. Ha! In your face Jerrah and Bill! The 49ers are real deal! Coach Jim Harbaugh is great!
Green Bay vs Houston is a tough call. Houston is dominant and Wade Phillips defense is tough (in your face again Jerrah). They hit hard. They tackle well. They frighten most offenses in the league, and I’d trade Romo for Schaub any day of the week. He’s impressed me before, but this year, I am a fan. I mean the dude had part of his ear knocked off and kept on going like it was nothing! Who does that! Even Holyfield was crying. Schaub just kept on going like a gladiator! And I’ve heard all the conjecture about his last game not being his best, but he WON! And Arian Foster is a monster! I’m sorry I don’t have him on my fantasy team. I have a lot of respect for Green Bay and Aaron Rogers, but I’m tired of them. It’s time for a new team to emerge as dominant, and Houston Texans are it! Undefeated baby.
I’m going with Denver and Payton Manning versus San Diego. He is just too good. Some of the coaches and most of the players call him sir because he deserves respect. He is a great player, and I love his commercials. He is truly a remarkable guy, and Denver needs to win with this team if they are going to any time soon. This is their shot. San Diego has a better record at 3-2, and Phillip Rivers is a contender. I think this will be a great Monday night game. I look forward to watching it. These are two well coached, disciplined teams. They will fight to the finish. Payton doesn’t lose games. He just runs out of time. I predict that both teams will walk away this week with a 3-3 record.
And that is all for today.
